Shibusen has located the positions of the three madness wavelength emitters keeping the levels of madness high around North America, which is also forcing Death the Kid to bind his soul to Death City to protect it, just as his father had done. Plans are now underway to destroy these emitters, and Kid announces the mission details for the raid on the first one. Following his announcement, partnerless technicians start seeking temporary partners to go with them on the mission. Not all of them have altruistic motives, however.
